Lisa Bishop, M.C.D., CCC-SLP
Clinical Manager/Speech Language Pathologist
Lisa Bishop founded Access Therapy in 2009 to provide access to speech therapy services for children living in rural areas with limited provider options. She has over twenty years of experience working with individuals and their families, and currently lives in Boiling Springs with her husband and their four children. Lisa graduated from the University of Florida with a BA in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology and from the University of South Carolina with her Master of Communication Disorders degree. Lisa is certified in Vital Stim (neuro-muscular electrical stimulation) therapy for the treatment of swallowing disorders. She is nationally certified by the American Speech Language Association and is a member of the South Carolina Speech Hearing Association. She is also licensed as a supervising speech language pathologist by the South Carolina Board of Examiner's in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology. Areas of clinical interest/focus include developmental apraxia of speech, autism spectrum disorder and assistive/augmentative communication. Lisa's favorite part of her job is being able to empower families with the tools they need to bring about better quality of life for their children. She states, "My clients and their families are my heroes and I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with them!".
Jamie Rouse, M.S., CCC-SLP
Speech Language Pathologist
Jamie Rouse graduated with a Masters of Science in Communicative Disorders in 2007 from East Tennessee State University and joined the Access Therapy team in 2010. She is nationally certified by the American Speech Language Association and is a member of the South Carolina Speech Hearing Association and is a licensed speech language pathologist by the South Carolina Board of Examiner's in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology. She is an adult and pediatric certified Vital Stim therapist for the treatment of swallowing disorders. Jamie has continued her post-graduate training to study the impact of esophageal disorders on swallowing, and has participated in several advanced-level trainings for feeding/swallowing difficulties and autism spectrum disorders.
Jamie states, "Over the past ten years, I have worked in a variety of settings as a Speech/Language Pathologist including the public school setting, skilled nursing and long-term care, pediatric outpatient, and in home therapy setting. While I enjoyed each of these settings, I have discovered my true passion is working with young children and their families. I get to experience children speaking their first words, teach them how to use alternate means of communication, and have been able to assist children from requiring a feeding tube to eating full meals by mouth. I really have one of the coolest jobs on earth! Access Therapies provides me with an opportunity to go to a job every day that is so much more than a job. I am so thankful to be apart of the Access Therapies team!".
Kierra LaForge, M.S., CFY-SLP
Speech Language Pathologist
Kierra joined the Access Therapy team in 2016. She achieved her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. She is licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist Intern by the South Carolina Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Areas of clinical interest include pediatric feeding difficulties, early language development, and voice disorders.
During her free time, Kierra enjoys playing competitive volleyball, weightlifting, finding new coffee shops, and getting lost in books!
Catherine B. Childers, M.S.P., CCC-SLP
Speech Language Pathologist
Catherine Childers graduated from Wofford College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and from the University of South Carolina with a Masters of Speech Pathology degree. She is nationally certified by the American Speech Language Association and is a member of the South Carolina Speech Hearing Association and the Piedmont Hearing and Speech Consortium. Catherine is licensed as a supervising speech language pathologist by the South Carolina Board of Examiner's in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology. She has experience in the school, home and clinic settings, and specializes in pediatric communication disorders. Catherine has continued her post-graduate training with emphasis on Applied Behavior Analysis and the impact of language disorders on literacy, and has completed her training for the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2).
Kathleen "Cecelia" Weaver, B.A., B.S., SLP-A
Speech Language Pathology Assistant
Cecelia Weaver graduated with a dual B.S and B.A in Psychology and Political Science from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. She later went on to earn an additional Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University in Speech and Hearing Science, and is currently earning her Masters degree in Communication Disorders from the University of South Carolina. Cecelia is licensed as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant by the South Carolina Board of Examiner's in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology. She has been working with children in some capacity for nearly fifteen years. She joined the Access Therapy team in 2013. Cecelia states, "I am highly passionate about my job and thrive to help children communicate to the best of their abilities. I often educate myself by attending conferences and listening to daily podcasts from professionals in the field". Cecelia enjoys staying active and traveling in her free time.
Emily Fulbright, B.S., SLP-A
Speech Language Pathology Assistant
Emily Fulbright joined the Access Therapy team in 2017. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from Bob Jones University. She is licensed as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant by the South Carolina Board of Examiner's in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, and is a member of the South Carolina Speech Hearing Association. Areas of clinical interest include early language development and voice training/habilitation. Her hobbies include singing and all things Disney. Ms. Fulbright enjoys working with children and their families and is excited to be the newest member of the Access Therapy team.
Blair Waldrep, B.A., SLP-A
Speech Language Pathology Assistant
Blair Waldrep graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Language Pathology from Columbia College. She is licensed as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant by the South Carolina Board of Examiner's in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology and is a member of the South Carolina Speech Hearing Association. Blair lives in Boiling Springs with her husband, daughter and fur baby "Dudley". She joined the Access Therapy team in 2011. Areas of clinical interest include feeding management and early language development. Blair is also an avid crochet/knitting aficionado and creates adorable handmade items for children. Blair states, "My favorite part of early intervention speech therapy is the moment one of my munchkins masters a goal, no matter how small. Seeing the excitement in their little eyes, and the joy in their parents' eyes as they sign for the first time, say their first word, or put together their first phrase makes my job wonderful!".
